Maja Gavrilovic, MSc, is an expert on gender and social protection with more than 15 years of experience working as a qualitative researcher, policy specialist, and technical adviser for the United Nations and civil society organizations. Her areas of expertise include gender-, and age-responsive social protection, food security and nutrition, and integrated social protection programming. At UNICEF, Maja led the qualitative components of impact evaluations of cash plus programmes in Ethiopia and Mozambique and provided technical support to the Gender Responsive and Age Sensitive Social Protection research programme. She is also experienced in capacity development and has facilitated training and learning events for government, research organizations, and development partners in social protection, qualitative research and evidence-informed policymaking. Her geographical focus spans sub-Saharan Africa (Ethiopia, Malawi, Nigeria, The Gambia, Rwanda, Mozambique), East and Central Asia (Cambodia, PRC China, Lao PDR, Kazakhstan, Mongolia) and Western Balkans (Serbia and Montenegro).
