Juba Kafumba
Juba Kafumba is a PhD candidate in Public Policy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She holds a Master’s in Regional Development Economics from Ege University in Turkey and a Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Malawi. Juba is also a Research Fellow at the Centre for Social Research at the University of Malawi, where she works on large-scale impact evaluations, including coordination of the long-term evaluation of Malawi’s Social Cash Transfer Programme. Her research focuses on poverty alleviation, social protection, health, and the role of cash transfer programs in improving young people’s well-being and livelihoods across sub-Saharan Africa.
