Evidence Summaries

This series of evidence summaries and briefs, commissioned by UNICEF in 2024 with funding from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and developed by Policy Research Solutions (PRESTO), aims to synthesise evidence from Africa on the impacts of government-led social cash transfer programmes. The syntheses cover impact areas such as poverty and resilience, health, education, gender equality, adolescent well-being, climate adaptation and mitigation, as well as social and economic effects at the community-level. The findings are presented in background papers and policy briefs, using language accessible to policymakers, practitioners, and other stakeholders.
